Welcome Back??

Hello!! It’s been a while. I have been busy with school and work, and also my laptop’s motherboard is died in the beginning of July, which seriously puts a damper on blogging!

Yesterday was my of the fall semester for grad school, and Next Wednesday starts the beginning of my full time clinical internship. From what I have heard-- this semester is going to be BUSY. So, we shall see if this is just a quick hello or not.

The past two days I have had comically bad luck. As aforementioned, yesterday was the first day of school, which consisted of being told all of the assignments we had to do this semester, and how stressful and difficult it would be. We were even given the number to the counseling center (So basically, this program is going to drive us into therapy??)

Some of the girls were going to Acapulco's after class, so I decided to stop by there to be social. Once I got there, my car was smoking. Apparently I have a severe transmission fluid leak.... Thankfully my father was nice enough to come help me out. And I still got to eat a lot of chips and salsa, and do some mingling. In the end I had to have my car towed, and didn’t get home until after 10 pm, exhausted.

Today, I was going to bike to Harvard Sq to get some work done, but alas, my back tire was flat. I decided to walk to Davis Square instead... Some how I managed to fall on my face, then roll over into someones driveway. I am not going to lie- I think it was a pretty impressive fall, and I regret more people were not there to witness it because I am sure it would have invoked a few laughs.

Any way…. hopefully my luck will change and I'll see ya'll soon!

The Trials and Tribulations of Traveling

Yesterday, my day began quite well. I completed nearly everything on my to do list, and overall felt pretty productive and good.

My diet was certainly not stellar, I ate about 3 cups of white rice, about 6 pumpkin chocolate chip cookies (recipe to come), and drank about 3 cups of coffee-- but, despite severely lacking in fruits, veggies and whole grains, I did not overly stuff myself at any one time (the rice and cookies were grazing throughout the day....) I did end off the day with an enormous salad in attempts to redeem my poor diet choices throughout the day.

Until 4 pm, I was quite happy with the day.

Last night, I had to teach an Exercise Physiology lab. I packed up my belongings and went to drive to class. My car wouldn't start. I know nothing of cars- but my first reaction is that the battery probably died somehow. Unfortunately I do not really know many people in Boston with cars who may be able to help me jump it, but I called pretty much everyone I know who does have a car to see if they have jumper cables.

One of the things on my to do list yesterday was to move my bike- as it has been outside in the elements and I have not been riding it, so I moved it into the basement.

Of course, with the car not starting, I then had to go remove bike from basement. I managed to get chain grease all over my clothes, which is especially great since another thing on my to do list yesterday was to do laundry, which I did, and now I have more clothes that I need to wash very soon in order to prevent permanent grease stains.

So, I started out on my biking journey. My front tire was flat.

Thankfully I live close to a gas station and I just went and added some air to it.

Turning onto Beacon Street from Mass Ave another Biker cut me off rather rudely (I have no problem with bikers passing me, as I am very slow, but this was not done civily at all). As soon as he passed me, he slammed on his breaks. Following suite, I slammed on my breaks to avoid crashing into him. I avoided falling off of my bike, however, I did slam my knee into my handle bars due to the abrupt stop.

Some days you just have to keep telling yourself there's light at the end of the tunnel.
